About the project

In the Round has been providing support to the Solent Transport across a number of initiatives.

Mobility as a Service (Breeze)

As the UK's first mulit-city, pan region, MaaS platforms Solent Transport wished to maximise the local impact of Breeze. As an extension to our previous behaviour change marketing communications support we were invited to develop a business engagement plan for Breeze designed to work through the business community to maximise the uptake of Breeze by their staff, customers, visitors and beyond. Working closely with all local stakeholders with an appreciation of the local business community we developed an 18-month plan targeting the largest trip generating organisations in the region from sports stadia to large scale retail centres.

Having first developed and made the case for this business engagement plan we set out advising our client on the mobilisation of the programme which included recruiting and training the engagement team, working with marketing and communication agency to develop toolkits of materials/support website and beyond. We also developed the associated KPIs and worked with the clients monitoring and evaluation advisers to develop a robust plan for understanding and responding to impacts.

As we enter the delivery phase of this engagement exercise we watch with interest to uderstand how successful the programme becomes and how engrained Breeze becomes with the way of life of those in the region.

Mobility Hubs Advisory

As part of its Future Transport Zone aspirations and working with Highways England, Hampshire County Council, Southampton City Council, Solent Transport is investigating the potential for the introduction of Mobility Hubs in the region.

Mobility Hubs are locations where all forms of shared mobility, micro mobility and public transport come together alongside public transport and local community facilities to have a significant impact on reducing car use particularly for shorter journeys.

In the Round is leading the feasibility stages of this work alongside colleagues at Solent Transport to include location assessment, a review of best practice and development of a design guide for mobility hubs for the region and potentially nationally.

Behaviour Change Marketing Communications Advisory

Having developed the 4 year behaviour change marketing communications strategy for the Future Transport Zone programme In the Round is now working with Solent Transport’s Marketing Communications Manager to oversee its delivery on behalf of project partners Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth City Council, Southampton City Council and Isle of Wight Council.

This includes onboarding the marketing communication agency support required to deliver the strategy and coordinating a group of marketing communication representatives from local stakeholders.

National Shared E-Scooter Trial Submission - Local Project Management

In the Round managed the development of a UK Department for Transport promoted 12 month pilot of shared electric scooters across a number of locations in Hampshire on behalf of a partnership of 4 local authorities (Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth City Council and Southampton City Council). The trial project received Government approval based on in the Rounds support in preparing the submission and the trial is now being actively implemented.
