Venue transport planning

November 2015 to February 2017

About the project

Prior to joining In the Round one of our team, Jon Foley, was Global Director of Mobility for internationally renowned multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy BuroHappold. One of the projects within his portfolio included providing transport advice to the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club in connection with the development of their new multi-million pound 70,000 seat Stadium in north London.

The assignment included the development of a car park access strategy for the 1,000 space under venue car park which was compliant with relevant security and safety requirements. This included a need to full understand requirements associated with hostile vehicle mitigation measures and alternative approaches to vehicle screening. Under his guidance Jon's team were required to scenario test alternative access routes into the Stadium, alternative uses of the multiple car park access points and undertake an assessment of the impact of alternative vehicle screen methods on queue length.

The role involved significant liaison with senior club management and close working with security experts as well as different functional areas within the Club including stadium operations, safety, hospitality and ticketing.
