In the Round was appointed to provide the organisers of Japan 2019 Rugby World Cup with senior level expertise, guidance and coaching in relation to all aspects of transport planning for the event.

As 12 host cities across Japan prepare to welcome over 1 million rugby fans from across the globe to a festival of rugby for six weeks from the end of September 2019 the organisers recognised the importance of focusing on final stage preparations by drawing on expertise from around the world.

In the Round provided oversight and technical leadership in relation to host city and venue transport operations, travel demand management, integration between transport and other functional areas and communications to spectators and others on travel and other operational matters. The event was massively successful overall and, in a hugely challenging cultural environment, we are proud to have played our part.
